Sitting in Grass

Top side done

So, the top side is done. I finish sanding the bow down and a couple of coats of epoxy on the bottom side of the plywood then it is time to skin the bottom!!! I disconnected it from the strong back this morning and weighed it. The frame weighs just under 22 pounds. (without seat slates)

All pieces epoxied in

So, everything is expoxied together. Here is a couple of pictures. As this is my first boat, it is going to end up Heavy and lots of epoxy drips all over. Next boat will be better. Next step is add a second coat of epoxy to the outside edge of the coaming and to sand down the extended knee brace. After that, next step is to take it off of the strong back and seal the bottom of the plywood frames. After that is done, I just need to skin the boat :)

Coaming base cut out

Keeping busy on kayak, but it looks the same. I have epoxied the bow, stern keel and deck beams in. I finally cut the base for the coaming and hope to epoxy it in tommorrow. Finish sealing the top of the plywood and make the seat.
